Raison d'etre

Hopefully, I will manage to make this blog an interesting read for the chess enthusiast. I am by no means a grandmaster, but I am passionately devoted to chess, and I love it with all my heart. Recently I've become quite interested in computer chess (both the chess part and the engineering part) - so I expect this blog will have a fair share of computer chess related articles or musings. But first and foremost it is going to be my own little chess playground, somewhere I can share my thoughts and ideas on the game.

About me as a chessplayer, there is very little to say. I am reasonably good over the board, but my frequency of wrong moves is alarmingly high. I prefer postal chess/e-mail chess, where I have plenty of time to think and analyze. I'm a nervous man, and over the board situation tends to play havoc with me.

That's a short introduction. Who knows, maybe I'll write a little more about myself later, if someone wants to know. To the chess, Robin!
